Emergency Contact Details Update
ECD Minimise Disruption
Q. What ECD information?
A. In the event of flight delays or cancellations,
British Airways needs to be able to communicate to affected passengers to minimise disruption for all bookings. The airline is requesting ‘Emergency Contact Details’ , a mobile number and email for a passenger to be entered into every British Airways booking.
Q. How will ECD information be used?
A. ECD information will only be used in the event of flight delays / cancellations. ECD will not be retained beyond the date of the final flight sector. The Data Protection Act forbids the use of this data for any other activity.
Q. Can I use my company’s ECD?
A. Should you wish to use your company’s own 24 hour Emergency Contact Number and Email this would be sufficient to comply, however it should be noted that it will be the responsibility of the owner of the ECD to pass communication to the actual traveller.
Q. How can I supply ECD?
A. You can provide this information by inputting this directly into your PNRs (click for list of GDS entry codes), or you can input it on British Airways ’s trade page. www.ba.com/travelpartner
